Malcolm Merritt Fuqua, age 77, of Clarksville, TN passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 29, 1937 in Montgomery County to the late James Jefferson and Ada Lou (Suiter) Fuqua.  Mr. Fuqua was retired from National Linen Service.  He served his country in the U. S. National Guard, was the owner of M & M Merchandise.   He was also a Licensed Funeral Director, a Boy Scout Master for several troops in Montgomery County, and many remember him as a greeter at Charlie’s Steak House for 22 years.  In early years, he received many accolades for his photography which won many contests.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, James Jr. and Billy Fuqua; sister, Virginia Exum; granddaughters, Christie Durham and Isabelle Grace Fuqua; great-grandson, Brayden Fuqua.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Wallace) Fuqua of Clarksville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm David (Wendy) Fuqua of Clarksville, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy (Danny) Atkins of Sango, Patricia (Kevin) Hurt, Susan (Michael) Wright, all of Clarksville, TN; brother, Charlton Fuqua of Clarksville, TN; sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred Jensen of Columbia, SC, Martha Hoover of Clarksville, TN, Mary Nell (Ed) Daly of AZ; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home with Brother David Mackens officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends Monday, January 26, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
