Vernie Lee Hill, Jr.

Vernie Lee Hill, Jr., age 82 , of Clarksville, TN passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Walking Horse Meadows Nursing Home. He was born on January 14, 1940 in Clarksville, TN to the late Vernie Lee Hill and Sarah Sylvia Taylor. Vernie was employed with the City of Clarksville's Fire Department for numerous years as Deputy Chief before retiring. Vernie's hobbies outside of work included auto racing, and deer and turkey hunting. He was also an enthusiastic Tennessee Vols supporter.

Left to cherish his memory is his son; Kenneth (Lara) Hill, granddaughters; Shelly (Brandon) Evinczik and Morgan (Timmy) Smith, one great-grandson, Jack Evinczik.

Vernie is preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Pamela (Trice) Hill. 

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Gateway Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. A graveside service will begin at 1:30 P.M. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville, TN.
