Richard L. Edmond

Richard L. Edmond, age 72, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Monday May 9, 2022 at Tennova Healthcare.  He was born July 26, 1949 in Phillipi, WVA, the son of the late Odbert Edmond and Marie Boehm Edmond.  Richard served his country in the US Army from December 1969 to December 1989.  He retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class.  During his time in the military, he served three tours of duty in Germany.  Following his military retirement, he worked for 12 years with the Tennessee Department of Corrections.  Most recently, he worked for five years at the Post Exchange on Ft. Campbell.  Richard is preceded in death by his wife Nora May Miller Edmond who passed in 2016.  He is also preceded in death by his grandson Stetson Levi Edmond, and brothers William Kenneth Edmond, James Maxwell Edmond, and Robert Keith Edmond, as well as a sister Kay Sue May.  Survivors include his son Richard L. Edmond II of Nashville, sisters Joanna Joy Poling, Shelby Jean Moreland, and Sharon Ann Edmond.  Also surviving are grandchildren Ashley May, Amber, Leann, and Melainy as well as five great grandchildren.  Graveside services with military honors will be conducted on Thursday May 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville, TN.  Arrangements are under the care of Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation Center  335 Franklin Street  Clarksville, TN  37040.  Phone 931-919-2600.  Online condolences may be made by going to www.gatewayfh.com.
