Nancy Claire Ward (Joyce) (Pecis)

Nancy Claire Ward (Joyce) (Pecis) succumbed in her sleep of natural causes on March 8, 2025. Born in Los Angeles, California on 4/18/1931, she was just weeks away from celebrating her 94th birthday. As a girl Nancy loved to sail. Her favorite spot was Catalina Island off the southern California Coast. She attended Newport Harbor High School and she was a plane spotter in WWII. Nancy married Robert G Joyce on September 9th, 1950. Together they had three children, Glen Scott, (Deceased) married to Carol (deceased), James Randall, (70 yrs), married to Jill of Redmond, OR; and Julie Lynn (69 yrs) of Clarksville TN. Her children produced six grandchildren, Scott, Jennifer, Brett, Christopher, Bryan (deceased) and Brian. 

Nancy’s first job was in retail but when she landed a job at First Interstate Bank (now Wells Fargo) she found her calling. She dedicated 31 years to her banking career with the same company. She and her husband retired to Sun City, Calif and then moved to Redding Calif where her husband succumbed to cancer. A few years later in 2001 Nancy met and married Edward Pecis in Redding, CA. They loved to travel and visited several exotic places. Edward passed of natural causes.

 Nancy moved to Clarksville, TN in 2012 to be closer to her daughter. Nancy lived at Uffelman Estates Independent Living where she made many friends but Nancy’s pride and joy were her five great grandchildren, all under 10 years old. Her heart’s desire was to know them as best as the distance between them would allow. Facetime video chats and an occasional personal visit would give her something to talk about for days. 

No funeral arrangements will be made however an informal Celebration of Life will be held at Uffelman Estates on April 18, 2025 at 3:00 pm; what would have been her 94th birthday. Anyone who knows Nancy or her family and who wants to join us in this celebration is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Cancer Society in Nancy’s name will be most welcome.
