Mona Sue Belt

Mona Sue Belt age 84, of Clarksville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 2nd, 2015 at Gateway Medical Center. She was born August 5th, 1931 in Robertson County, TN, the daughter of the late John W. and Pauline Watts Strange.

Mrs. Belt was a homemaker who was dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Greater Life Apostolic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Walter M. Belt Sr. of Clarksville. She is also survived by a son Walter M. Belt Jr. and wife Judy of Russellville, KY; daughter Mona L. Hunsinger of LaGrange, KY; three brothers Ron Strange of Cedar Hill, TN; Paul Strange of Adams, TN; and Johnny Strange of Springfield, TN; and one sister Teresa Head of Springfield, TN. Mrs. Belt is also survived by four grandchildren, Walter M. "Chip"Belt III; Kristy Lacy; Paula and Jay Hunsinger as well as six great- grandchildren; Jon L. , Nathaniel and Katie Lacy; Noah Williams; Joshua Hines and Sarah F. Wilson. She is also survived by one great-great grandchild Jessalynn Johnson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a granddaughter Jessica Johnson and two brothers Cyril and Charles Strange.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 6th at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home with Mrs. Belt's son, Reverend Walter M. Belt Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin on Saturday, December 5th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
