Michael John Smith

Michael John Smith, age 79 of Clarksville, TN passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Tri-Star Horizon in Dickson, TN. He was born September 5, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Elbert Albright and Anna Hearst. Michael retired from the United States Army after serving his country for 23 years. Apart from work, he had many hobbies including gardening and landscaping, fishing, playing classical piano music, and most of all he was an excellent artist. Some of his craftwork is located at the Dayton National Museum in Dayton, Ohio.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, whom he loves dearly, Blanche J. Smith; children, Michael (Linda) Smith Jr., Joseph Smith, Bernadette (Luke) Sukow, and Anna (Joe) Southerland; a sister, Theresa Albright; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his brothers; Charles Albright and Joseph Smith.

A funeral service will be held at Gateway Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. with a visitation one hour prior.
