Martha Jean Hoosier

Martha Jean Hoosier, age 72 of Clarksville, TN passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center. Martha was born on October 5, 1948 in Clarksville, TN to the late Billy and Ruby Hoosier. Martha was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age.  She was an excellent baker and known for her famous cherry cheesecake and peanut butter cookies. There was never a dull moment with Martha. She was always the life of the party. Martha’s family will take comfort in knowing they were dearly loved by her.

Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Charles Hoosier (Martha) of Guthrie, KY and Wayne Hoosier (Tracy) of Springfield, TN; sisters, Darlene Hoosier of Clarksville, TN and Carrie Mooreland of Clarksville, TN; godsons, Nicholas Mills and Anthony Jefferson; and uncle, John Hoosier Sr. Martha is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Along with her parents, Martha is preceded in death by daughter, Jessie Hoosier; brothers, Curtis Hoosier, John Hoosier, Frank Thomas Hoosier and George Hoosier; sisters, Bertha Hoosier, Maude Wilcox, Dorothy Merriweather, Magdalene Allen and Virginia Naylor.

Funeral services for Martha Jean Hoosier will be held at Gateway Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be held prior beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Officiating will be Reverend Dorian Webster and Reverend Frederick Daniels. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarksville, TN.
