Marjorie Ann Ray

June 10, 1941 — July 31, 2023

Clarksville

Marjorie Ann Poldo (Ray) was born on June 10, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Cora Alice Poldo and James Johnson, Jr.

Marjorie accepted Christ at an early age and began serving Yah in various churches and outreach ministries throughout the city of Detroit. She was a Certified Respiratory Therapist and worked in Hospitals both in Detroit and in Columbus, Ohio for 35 years before retiring in 2003.

Marjorie met and married Eugene Stephen Ray on June 30, 1957 and together they had six children.

Marjorie was a very kind and loving woman who shared her many gifts and talents with whomever was in her presence. She was dearly loved by family and those she encountered. She was a voracious reader, often reading 2-3 books at a time. She was a lover of the Arts and a talented artist.

On the evening of July 31, 2023, she made a very peaceful transition at home surround by her family, with many comical reflections, joy, laughter, and tears – from her own lips, she was ready to go home to be with Jesus. Her life will forever be celebrated by her family whom she cherished deeply, as she always put the needs of others, above her own.

Left to cherish her memories are her children; Eugene Ray, Jr., Andre Ray, Keith Ray, Annakiya Sauda, and Carl Ray; 19 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren who will celebrate her life and continue her legacy.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Stephen Ray, Sr., and her son, John Frank Ray.
