Linda Sue Kelsey

Linda Barton Kelsey, age 79, of Clarksville, TN passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on September 4, 2025.

Linda was preceded in death by devoted husband, Terry R. Merchant, of 42 years. Son Randy Merchant and brother Dick Barton.

Survivors include husband Ernest Kelsey, Sons Timothy Merchant of Russellville, KY and Travis Merchant (Lauren) of Ashland City, TN, Daughter Robin Travis (Barry) of Clarksville, TN, 10 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren.

Linda was born December 3, 1945, in Everett, PA. The daughter of late Glen Barton and Helen Heister.

From 1977-79 Linda and husband Terry were house parents for 6 teen boys at Happy Hills Boys Ranch having a heart and compassion for youth.

Linda went into Nursing School in 1979. She cared for patients at Memorial Hospital in Clarksville, TN. Later in life she was a traveling nurse with her late husband by her side. Over 36 years of nursing, serving others with kindness and grace.

Linda and Ernest, of 15 years, enjoyed their retired years traveling together.

Linda’s main focus was on God and family. A devoted member of Hilldale Church of Christ. She enjoyed going on medical missions, helping at The Well (Clarksville, TN), and Disaster Relief (Nashville, TN).

Linda was a loving wife and cherished Mother. She lived life by faith, love, and ministry of Christ.

Linda found joy in capturing Gods creation in photography, singing praises to the Lord and had an adventurous heart to travel.

Those who knew Linda will remember her for her warm compassionate heart, determined strength, mild mannered, a Proverbs 31 woman of God.

A celebration of life will be held at Hilldale Church of Christ, Sunday September 14, 2025, with brother in Christ Travis Hartle officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00pm and Memorial service at 2:00pm.
