John Lynn Byrd, age 67, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Tristar Skyline Medical Center. He was born January 22, 1957 in Clarksville, TN to the late L.G. Byrd and Frances Smith.
John was immensely proud of what he had accomplished during his life. He worked tirelessly and he reached all of the milestones needed to eventually earn his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University; as well as also working hard to earn other things separately. With his earnings, he became a Professor at Austin Peay State University. He loved his job and worked there for more than 40 years, becoming a well-respected individual by many.
John was characterized by many things, but he was best known for how smart, silly, loving, stubborn, and most of all, how dramatic he was. He was also able to experience a lot throughout his lifetime which resulted in him gaining a love for many things, but what stuck with him the most was his love for the outdoors, traveling, space, and STEM. Although John had a very fulfilling life outside of his family, he still cherished them the most and was a proud father. He made it known to everyone that his family was the most important part of his life and that he loved being a father and husband more than anything. John will forever be in all of our hearts as he was the best son, brother, husband, and father that anyone could ever ask for.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Stevi Byrd; children, Amy (Charley) Hardin, Sara Byrd, Jake Byrd, Haylee Byrd, Arianna Byrd; grandchildren, Kyle Byrd, Jessica Torres, Abby Morgan, Addison Tyler; great-grandchildren, Raeleigh Byrd, DJ Byrd, and Luke Byrd; siblings, Jimmy (Karen) Byrd, Timmy (April) Byrd, and Emily Anderson.
