John Allen ""Big John"" McGowan, Jr.

John "Big John" McGowan, Jr. , passed away on May 30th, 2015 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY at the age of 79. He was born In Yakima, WA on October 21st, 1935 to the late John McGowan, Sr. and Mary Anna Henke McGowan. He served his country in the United States Army for twenty years as a staff sergeant, and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He then was with the Civil Service for eighteen years at Fort Riley in Kansas. Hewas employed as a paint contractor until he retired. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Virginia Hill McGowan.

He is survived by his step-son, John D. Frederick (Tina) of Cadiz, KY; three step- grandchildren, Ashley McDaniel, Kristen and Coy Alan Campbell, and two step great-grandchildren.
