James William Hunt

James William Hunt, age 83, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Ahava Healthcare. He was born July 15, 1940 in Ironton, OH to the late Charles E. Hunt Sr., and Dorothy Brammer Hunt. 

James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Apart from serving in the military, James's thirst for knowledge led him to pursue an exceptional academic journey. He earned not one but two Doctorate degrees in Christian Education and Christian Research, reflecting his unwavering dedication to his faith and service to others. These degrees became the foundation upon which he built a life committed to spreading love, wisdom, and spiritual guidance. He was a devoted Pastor and served as Chief of Chaplain with the TN State Guard and received the Alvin C. York award. He also served as President of St. Andrews High School from 2004 until 2012 and was President of the Trinity Graduate Bible School and Seminary. 

Survivors include his wife, Linda Hunt; daughter, Penny (Brian) Greene; brothers, Robert (Martha) Hunt and Charles (Donna) Hunt Jr.; sister, Margaret (Gary) Webber; grandchildren, Megan Greene, Ben Jandrain, and Michelle (Cody) Jefferys; great grandchild, Alice Jefferys; sister-in-law, Margaret (Charles Kasek) Fouts, and a special friend, Jung Woo Yao and her daughter, Ashley. 

Visitation will take place at Gateway Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
