Glenn Alfred Sayers

Glenn Sayers, 89, passed away on October 12, 2021 in Clarksville, TN.

Glenn was born January 9, 1932 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Clarence and Arlean Sayers. As a young child his family moved from Iowa to Portland, Oregon where he grew up. He enlisted in the Army during the Korean War, as an infantryman. Shortly after returning from Korea, he met his wife Arlene. They moved to Tacoma, WA where they started their family and had 4 daughters.

In 1972, Glenn moved his family to Alaska and he worked at Spenard Builders Supply. He started out as a saw operator and worked his way up to be the Truss Plant Manager. He retired from Spenard Builders Supply in 1990, and he and Arlene moved to Arizona. They built a home and enjoyed the sun and fun of Arizona until they moved to Clarksville in 2014.

Glenn enjoyed restoring old cars, bowling, golfing, fishing, and watching sports on TV. He loved spending time with his family and was an amazing Papa to his 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 66 years, Arlene, his four daughters and their families, Katie and Mike Buller of Spokane, WA, December and Neal Young of Paris, TX, Stephanie and Tim Offutt of Clarksville, TN and Leslie Russell of Clarksville, TN.

Glenn will be buried in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, on October 25th, at 11:00 AM.  The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Spring Meadows Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Glenn in his final months. We know that putting up with his grumpiness was exhausting, but we really appreciate all that you did for him.
