Gerald Richard Engebrecht, 85, passed away on July 6, 2023, in his home, surrounded by his children. He was born on January 5, 1938, in Helenville, WI to the late Edwin and Selma Engebrecht.
Gerald served in the military for a few years and then went on to support the troops in his role as a Logistics Assistance Representative (tank specialist). Throughout his career Gerald received several awards, including "LAR" of the year.
Left to cherish his memories are his children; Shane (Rachel) Engebrecht, Wendy (Keith) Giles, Tina Engebrecht, and Felicia Engebrecht, and his grandchildren Sarah (John) Engebrecht Lumpkin, John Engebrecht, Dylan Giles, and David Giles. He is survived by his siblings Norman, George, and Anna. In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by his wife Ellen, and his siblings Bobby, Charlie, and Margie.
Gerald's passion was to study and teach the Word of God, while faithfully and diligently mentoring and serving others. He loved working the land, being outdoors, and visiting the national parks to admire the beauty of God's creation.
Gerald's memory will be forever cherished by those who loved him. As they navigate the difficult days ahead, they draw strength from the love and support they shared with him, thankful for the time they had together. Though he may no longer be physically present, Gerald's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A memorial service will be held on September 2, 2023, at 10:30 am at Grace Baptist Church, 1350 Bumpus Mills Rd, Dover TN 37058. There will be refreshments and a time of fellowship at the church after the service.
