David Richard Carney

David Richard Carney, age 71, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at his residence. David was born in Clarksville, TN on February 19, 1950 to the later Porter and Sammie Carney. David served his country in the US Army. He was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran. Following the military, he worked at Trane for 20 years and the American Snuff Company for 10 years. David loved his family and life. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Left to cherish David's memory is his wife of 14 years, Annette Carney of Clarksville, TN; son, Charles Wright of Clarksville, TN; daughters, Sherrie Wright-Potts (Donald) of Clarksville, TN and Marie Ford of Westfield, IN; grandchildren, Blake Belt, Christina Gilmore (Jason), Sherrie Noble, Lily Mathieu (Nate) and Donnie Potts. David is also survived by great grandchild, Kai Gilmore.

Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by granddaughter, Danielle Ullom.

A visitation for David Richard Carney, will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Gateway Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Immediately following the visitation, interment will follow at the KY Veteran Cemetery West at 1:00 P.M.
