Bobbie Eugene Tanner age 87 of Clarksville, passed away on Saturday January 9, 2016 at Gateway Medical Center. He was born April 19, 1928 in Marceline, Missouri, the son of the late Byron Tanner and Carmine Whisenand Tanner. Mr. Tanner served his country in the US Army. He retired from the military with the rank of Sergeant First Class. During his 22 years in the Army, he served in Korea and Vietnam. During WWII, he served in the Merchant Marines. Following his retirement from the military, he was self employed as a truck driver. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge in Oak Grove, KY. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Clara Moore Tanner; a daughter Karen Loalbo and husband Bob of San Antonio, TX; sons Mike Tanner and wife Connie of Murfreesboro and Danny Tanner and Beth of Clarksville. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Traci Ann Tanner, Joseph Wood Tanner, Jason Loalbo, Spencer Loalbo, and Mike & Marianna Tanner. Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday January 14, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.at the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Friends and family may visit from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services. Entombment will follow at 12 noon at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
