Blanche Jeanette Smith

Blanche Jeanette Smith, age 77, of Clarksville, TN passed away at her residence on Sunday, December 15, 2019. She was born in Dayton, OH to the late William Bowers and Frances Bowers Miller. Blanche was known for taking exceptional care of her home, children, and husband. She dedicated her entire life to loving and caring for her family. Blanche took it upon herself to bring many other neighborhood children into her home to be cared for as well. She loved country music and her animals. Family and friends emphasize what a loving and tender woman Blanche was. She was like an angel on earth.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Anna Southerland (Joe), Michael Smith Jr. (Linda), Joseph Smith, and Bernadette Sukow (Luke); 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Blanche is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Michael John Smith; siblings: Bill, Hilbert, Rose, Ruth, and Effie.

A funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be conducted on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at Gateway Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
