Virginia Smith Sherbin, age 81, passed away on August 26, 2026. She was born July 18, 1945, in Rainelle, West Virginia, to Ashely Wiseman Smith and Beatrice Elizabeth Smith.

Virginia will be remembered for the life she built and for the simple joys that brought her happiness. She worked as a manager at JC Penny, a role that reflected her steady presence and sense of responsibility. Outside of work, she loved road trips, country music, China Dolls, and humming birds, interests that added warmth and personality to her life and will remain part of how she is remembered by those who knew her.

Above all, Virginia’s memory lives on in her family. She is survived by her son, Stephen Sherbin (Nikki); her daughter, Rhonda Sherbin; her brother, Lyle Smith; daughter in law, Linda Smith; and daughter in law, Minnie Smith. She also leaves five grandchildren, Stephen Sherbin, K.C. Hardy, C.J. Borders, Raelynn Sherbin and RJ Sherbin and three great grandchildren, Ashton, Darren and LeLand. May they find comfort in the memories they shared with her and in the lasting place she holds in their hearts.

Virginia was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Smith; her father, Ashley Smith; and her brothers, Jimmy Smith and Leo Smith.

She will be remembered with love and respect by her family and friends, and her memory will endure in the lives she touched.
