Frances C. Bowden, born April 16, 1934, passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 92.

Frances will be remembered with love for the deep devotion she held for those around her. She loved her family and her church family at Hilldale Baptist Church, and those bonds were an important part of her life. She was also honored to be a part of Clarksville’s Gold Star family, a distinction that carried special meaning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Bowden; her daughter, Darlene Bowden; her brothers, Danny Chester and Nolan Chester; her sister, Nell Wood; and her parents, Leslie and Ada Mae Chester.

Frances leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish her memory. She is survived by her sons, Michael Bowden, Joseph Bowden Jr., and Steven Bowden, stepdaughter Sharon Tompkins [Ray], and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren whose lives stand as part of her lasting legacy. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Nicholson [Willie Ray] and Ruby Caldwell. May the memory of Frances C. Bowden bring comfort to all who knew and loved her, and may her life be remembered with gratitude, affection, and peace.
